Friday MLB Pick

The Detroit Tigers are off to a slow start but get back on track today in their home opener against the St. Louis Cardinals. Framber Valdez is expected to get the nod for the Tigers. In his first outing of the season against the San Diego Padres, Valdez was throwing flames. The southpaw notched seven strong innings, yielding just one earned run, and the Tigers went on to a 5-2 win. Comerica Park is going to be electric and the Tigers will not stumble.

The New Mexico Lobos and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane will meet in the semifinal NIT tonight at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Lobos will win this game because their defense is stellar and they will shut down the Hurricane offense.

The San Diego Padres will have Nick Pivetta on the hill when they host the San Francisco Giants today at Petco Park. Pivetta has nasty stuff, he will throw strikes and the Friars are going to win.

The Buffalo Sabres cannot afford to lose tonight at home the New York Islanders and they won’t. Enough said!

Monday MLB Pick

The New York Yankees are hitting on every cylinder. They swept the Giants in San Francisco, outscoring them 13-1, and will do the same when they visit the Seattle Mariners tonight. The Yankees are hot. Ride them ‘un’til they are not.
TONIGHT’S PICK: NEW YORK YANKEES

Sunday NHL Pick

The Buffalo Sabres had better be sleeping with one eye open because the Tampa Bay Lightning are just two points back of them for the lead in the Atlantic and they have two in the bush. Today the Lightning will be hosting the Nashville Predators and they have their number. The Lightning have won three straight against the Predators, 8 of the last 9, and are 22-12 at home. The Bolts don’t come cheap today but are worth considering.
TODAY’S PICK: TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING

Saturday MLB Pick

The Baltimore Orioles won their season opener against the Minnesota Twins in a close one, 2-1, on Thursday. Today in the middle game of a 3-game set at Birdland the Orioles are expected to send Kyle Bradish to the hill. Bradish returned to the rotation late last season after Tommy John surgery and was back to doing what he does best and that is deliver. In 6 starts, Bradish was 1-1 with an ERA of only 2.53 and a 1.03 WHIP. The Twins are expected to counter with Taj Bradley. Last year with Tampa and Minnesota Bradley was 6-9 with a bloated ERA of 5.05 and a 1.31 WHIP. Pete Alonso and company are ready to pounce.
