The New York Rangers will look to get back on the rails when they head to St. Louis tonight to take on the 20-18-1 Blues. The 26-11-2 Rangers have lost two straight and are not happy. The Metropolitan Division leaders should bounce back tonight. This is a team you never look forward to facing on your home ice and especially after they were manhandled by the Canucks in their previous outing, falling 6-3. The Rangers are 13-5-2 on the road and 9-1 in their last 10 games following a loss of 3 goals or more.
TONIGHT’S PICK: NEW YORK RANGERS

The 19-17-2 Arizona Coyotes will look to snap their 3-game losing streak tonight but it’s not going to be easy because the Boston Bruins are in town. The Bruins lost in a SO last night to the Colorado Avalanche and do not like losing two in a row. Boston is 24-8-7 overall and an impressive 12-5-4 on the road. The Bruins have won 9 out of the last 10 meetings with the Coyotes and have the edge in goals per game, goals against, etc., etc., etc.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BOSTON BRUINS

Everybody talks about how good the New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, and Vegas Golden Knights are but there is a team north of the border called the Vancouver Canucks who is really, really good. After an impressive 6-4 win over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday at the Rock, the 25-11-3 Canucks will make the short trip tonight to MSG to face the 26-10-2 New York Rangers. The Rangers have stumbled a bit of late, losing 3 of their last 5, and are coming off a 4-3 OT loss to the lowly Montréal Canadiens. It’s no surprise that the Canucks are a road dog in this one but that’s just fine because they are the better team. Vancouver scores more goals than New York, gives up less, and should be considered tonight.
TONIGHT’S PICK: VANCOUVER CANUCKS

The Carolina Hurricanes will look to remain hot when they head to DC tonight to face the Washington Capitals. The Canes have won 4 straight with their last 2 coming on the road against two of the best in the league, the New York Rangers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Caps are just 1-5 over their last 6 and 1-4 in their last 5 meetings with the Hurricanes. Carolina is hot, ride them ’til they are not.
TONIGHT’S PICK: CAROLINA HURRICANES

The 17-9-6 Toronto Maple Leafs had a Christmas hangover when they fell to the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday. Tonight it will be a different outcome when they visit the 11-18-7 Columbus Blue Jackets. The Leafs are lethal on the road, with a record of 8-3-4, and Auston Matthews will tack on some more tallies to his league-leading 28 goals, and its only December. Scary.
TONIGHT’S PICK: TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS

After a brief respite, the NHL is back in action. Be careful today because these guys have had too much time off and you know what that means. However, the Toronto Maple Leafs are at home tonight against the pathetic Ottawa Senators and have Auston Matthews, who is a scoring machine. Forget about it.
TONIGHT’S PICK: TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS

Two of the original six will meet tonight when the Chicago Blackhawks host the Montréal Canadiens. Chicago is tied with San Jose for the fewest points in the league (21) and even with the next hockey great on their side, the young phenom Connor Bedard, they still find a way to lose. The 14-13-5 Canadiens play better on the road than at home with an impressive record of 7-4-3. The Habs have also won the last three meetings with the Blackhawks, score more goals than Chicago, and give up less.
